Clay soap is the skincare product you didn’t know you needed
If you’ve been looking for a cleanser that won’t dry out your skin
and simultaneously control your acne and give you an overall glow,
try adding Clay Soap to your skin ritual . This ancient cleansing trend takes the daily cleansing ritual to a whole new level.
The gentle formula helps control sebum production and deeply cleanses the skin.
What are clay soaps?
These are soaps that use the natural active substance of clay to cleanse the
face very gently while getting rid of all the excess dirt and oils in the pores.
The different colours of the clay depend on its mineral composition,
which is determined by the source rock from which the clay was
formed through the processes of weathering and erosion.
What makes clays unique is their cation-exchange capacity (CEC) –
the ability to adsorb and exchange cations (positively charged ions).
Montmorillonite clays have the highest CEC rate, and kaolin clay the lowest.
In skin care, this means that clay can remove positively charged toxins and
pollutants from your skin. Clay soaps provide a sort of detox cure for our
skin without depriving the skin of moisture.
Minerals found in the mud also promote regeneration.
Who are clay soaps suitable for?
Clay soaps are ideal for people with oily and acne prone skin. They remove deposits that lead to pimples and excess oil production. But sensitive, dry skin types can also benefit from clay soaps too since the soaps do not alter the natural moisture of the skin.
I use a blend of clays in my soaps to maximise all their skincare benefits and provide a choice of bars for skin types.
How To Use
Morning, a simple clay soap wash is all your skin needs prior to toner and moisturiser and or serum
Night time, if wearing make up, remove with oil based cleanser ( Green Tea Cleansing Balm) and double cleanse with Clay Soap Bar prior to again toner and night time Moisturiser/ Serum.
I take great care to ensure my skin products to remain as close to nature as possible. The less processing involved in the raw ingredients, the more precious antioxidants and nutrients remain to nourish the skin.
